Scott Gets Two Gold Medals
at the Midland & District Age-Group Championships 2008
Many congratulations to Scott Allin (14) who gained the gold medal in both the 100m and 200m backstroke at this year's Midland & District Age-Group Championships held at Coventry during two weekends in June. Scott gained National Times in both events as a 15 year old. This is a brilliant achievement for this Wyre Forest swimmer who has been a club member since he was four years old. Scott also swam in the 200m free, 200IM and the 1500m freestyle.Eliza Bradley (13) got the bronze medal for the 100m freestyle but narrowly missed out on a National Time. She already has a National Time in the 50m freestyle event as a 14 year old. Eliza also swam in the 200 IM, 100m Fly, 200m Free, 100m and 200m Back.
Both Scott & Eliza will compete in the National Age-Group Championships at the end of July. Team Member, Luke Ladbrooke (17) will compete in the 100m backstroke at the National Youth Championships in August. Fran O'Connor will also be competing in the National Championships in the 50 and 100m freestyle. We wish all three swimmers the very best of luck.
Other Midland & District qualifiers who competed over these two weekends and who also put in brilliant swims gaining personal best times were: Megan Tinsdale (11) in the 100m freestyle, Faith Ross (13) 100m freestyle and Jack Barnett (14) in the 100m freestyle.
Well done to all the swimmers.
