Derventio Excel Open Meet - 31st May & 1st June

Held at Ponds Forge, Sheffield

Ten swimmers from Wyre Forest took part in one of the top open meets this weekend at Ponds Forge, Sheffield.

Both Luke Ladbrooke (17) and Eliza Bradley (13), who will be 14 for the National Championships, already gained qualifying times in the 100m Backstroke and 50m Freestyle respectively. Eliza Bradley narrowly missed her national qualifying time in the 100m freestyle at this meet.

Fourteen year old Scott Allin (pictured here), who will be 15 for the national Championships, gained a national qualifying time in the 200m backstroke, taking the gold medal and making him the current fastest for this event in the Midland & District region and 12^th fastest in the 15 year age group in the U.K.  Scott will now join Luke and Eliza at this year’s National Championships.
