Congratulations to the following swimmers who competed in the County Championships -1500m at Hereford last Sunday (21st February 2010):

Scott Allin, Josh Bradley, Dan Eddies, Hayden Griffiths, Sophie Hall, Erica Harris, Sophie Haycock-Jones, Beth Hinton, Adam Marsh, Tom Middleton, Sam Rose, Faith Ross, Jack Rowley, Calum Tinsdale and Megan Tinsdale.

Another 9 medals were won by Wyre Forest swimmers:

Sophie Hall (11) 1st

Beth Hinton (11) 3rd

Meg Tinsdale (13) 2nd

Hayden Griffiths (13) 2nd

Scott Allin (16) 1st in 15/16 age-group, 2nd overall and Junior Champion

Josh Bradley (16) 2nd 15/16 age-group and 3rd overall

Dan Eddies (17+) 3rd

Well done to the following swimmers who took part in this meet against stiff competition:

Erin Bainbridge (10), Alice Hayden-Jones (9), Sophie Jancey (11), Kyra Robbins (10), Natasha Walker (10), Sam Bainbridge (14+), Jordan Chappell (14+) and Matthew Newey (10).

There were lots of great swims and personal best time achieved.

Well done to Alice Hayden-Jones who got the gold medal in the Girls 9 years 50m Breast.

The Worcester County Championships started with the 800m Freestyle event on Sunday 7th February 2010 at Hereford. It was a fantastic day for Wyre Forest with some amazing results.

Congratulations to all the swimmers who took part. There were many personal best times achieved.

Well done to Sophie Hall who swam an amazing time of 9.54 minutes gaining the gold medal in the 11 year girls category. Beth Hinton came 5th with a personal best time of a minute faster than her entry time.

Jack Rowley came 8th and Tom Middleton came 9th in the Boys 12 year category.

Sam Rose came 2nd in the 13 year boys category and Hayden Griffiths came 5th.

Megan Tinsdale came 2nd in the 13 year girls category and Erica Harris came 8th.

Sophie Haycock-Jones came 7th in the 15/16 year girls category and Faith Ross came 9th.

Scott Allin gained the Boys Junior Champion title, had the 2nd fastest time overall and took gold in the boys 15/16 years category.

Josh Bradley came 3rd in the boys 15/16 years category and Adam Marsh came 5th.

Luke Ladbroke finished 3rd in the 17 years+ category and Dan Eddies came 6th.

Last night Redditch hosted a friendly Gala for 9 to 12yr olds from local teams. Full results are on the Forum - please sign up if you haven't already (parents and swimmers only).

The Ross PGL League speeding limits were used in this gala and the following swimmers were caught speeding: Ben Hall 9yr 1 lth breast, Alice Fish 12/u 50m Back, Sophie Jancey 12/u 50m Fly, Kyra Robbins 11/u 50m Back, Tom Willcox 12/u 50m Free, Nathan Hawkins 10/u 50m Back, Adam Hall 9yr 1 lth Free and Amy Osborne 9yr 1 lth Free.

Junior Coach, Lorna Griffiths and Team Manager, Bob Walters, took this opportunity to give many swimmers their first taste of a competitive gala.

Very well done to the following swimmers who made their debut: Amy Aston, Madeleine Bowen, Amy Osborne, Eleanor Blakeway, Alice Caldwell, Ella Tristram, Georgia Webster-Ford, Daniella De Carteret, Tom Bull, Alex Challen, Henry Williams and William Richardson.

Wyre Forest came 3rd with 171 points, hosts, Redditch came first with 191 points, Haden Hill 2nd with 187 points, Bromsgrove 4th with 170 points and Worcester were 5th with 147 points.

1st Places: Kieran Hawkins 10yrs & under 50m Breast, 9yr Boys Medley Relay team of Tom Bull, Adam Hall, Allaster Renton and Ben Hall, 9ys Girls Freestyle Relay Team of Madeleine Bowen, Amy Aston, Amy Osborne and Hetty Tinsdale, Jack Rowley 12yrs and under 50m Breast, Kiah Bradley 11/u 50m Fly, Abbie Rowley 9yr 1 lth Fly, Boys 12/u Freestyle Relay Team of Jack Rowley, William Richardson, Alex Brady and Tom Willcox, George Carroll 11/u 50m Breast, Georgia Lloyd 11/u 50m Breast and Tom Bull 9yr 1 lth Back.
