The Worcestershire ASA County Championships (& other County Galas)
The County Championships are held during two weekends usually in February/March at the Worcester and Wolverhampton 25m pools. The 800m and 1500m are held in February at Hereford and are for the 12yrs and above. Age is at last day of Championships. 800m Freestyle - 9th February 2008
Congratulations to Connor Allen (12), Faith Ross (13) and Scott Allin (14) who all swam in the Worcester county 800m freestyle event at Hereford on February 9th 2008.

Well done to Eliza Bradley (13) who gained an impressive 3 gold and 2 silver medals this weekend. Eliza also broke the Championship record for the 50m back and the 50m fly. She will go down in the record books for the 50m fly with her PB of 31.75. She also gained 3 Midland & District Qualifying times (MDQT).
Alex (AJ) Renton took 2 silver medals in the 200m breastroke and 50m Back and a bronze medal in the 100IM in his first ever Championships.
There were some fantastic swims from all the age groups but especially from the younger swimmers who took many seconds off their entry times.
Other medals went to Luke Barnett bronze for 400IM, Megan Tinsdale bronze for the 100IM, Jessica Lewis bronze for 50m Backstroke, Scott Allin bronze for 50m back & 100m back and an MDQT in his 200m freestyle and 100m back, Luke Ladbrooke silver in the 50m backstroke. Luke also swam in the open finals for the 50m and 100m back coming 4th and 5th respectively and gained an MDQT in the 100m Backstroke. Oche Igoche bronze in the 50m back and silver in the 100IM.
Well done and congratulations to all the swimmers. Thanks also to coaches: John, Bob, Graham and James for all their hard work on poolside.

There were some superb results from Wyre Forest swimmers with gold medals going to Eliza Bradley (girls 13 yrs 50m & 100m freestyle), Oche Igoche ( boys 11 yrs 50m freestyle and 50m breast), Alex Renton (boys 9yrs 200m back) and Jacob Jackson (boys 9 yrs 50m breast) and Scott Allin (boys 14yr 200m back).
Other medallists were Alex Renton (3rd 400m free, 2nd 200IM and 3rd 50 breast)), Megan Tinsdale (3rd 50m freestyle, 3rd 100m free), Emily Goodman (3rd 100m breast, 3rd 50m breast), Eliza Bradley (2nd 100m breast, 2nd 50m breast, 2nd 200m back), Sophie Hall (3rd 400m freestyle), Lizzie Hall (2nd 50m freestyle), Scott Allin (2nd 200IM) and Oche Igoche (2nd 100m freestyle).

The events are categorised by Age Group, ages are as at the last day of the Championships, and are open to swimmers from the age of 9 upwards. Some swimmers will achieve Midland & District Qualifying times during these events.
From time to time swimmers may be picked to swim for the County in other events such as the Three Counties Gala usually in June.
