Worcester Winter League 2007

Round One - Droitwich 20th January 2007

WFSC came a close second in this exciting gala with 190 points. Bromsgrove were first with 198 points, Stourbridge B 3rd 172 points, Perry Beeches B  4th with 134 points and Pershore 5th with 85 points.

There were 36 personal best times achieved and 14 - 1st places achieved out of 40 races - a remarkable performance.

1st places went to: 11/u mixed medley relay team of Bethany Lewis, Conor Allen, Emily Goodman, Oche Igoche, Megan Tinsdale and Niall Adams. The same swimmers also gained 1st place in the 11/u freestyle relay.  The 13/u mixed medley relay team of Katie Parker, Jack Barnett, Katherine Whelan, Alex Thorley, Jess Griffiths and Scott Allin; the same team also won the 13/u freestyle event.
Individual events 1st places : Emily Lane 15/u 4 lgths freestyle (PB 1.05.80) and 4 lgths breast, Scott Allin boys 13/u 4 lgths back, Richard Carter  Open 4 lengths fly, Beth Lewis 11/u 2 lengths freestyle (PB 33.86) and 2 lengths fly (PB 41.26), Oche Igoche 11/u 2 lengths free (PB 31.77) and fly (PB 38.95), Katherine Whelan 13/u 4 lengths breast (PB 129.36), Jack Barnett 13/u 4 lengths breast and Hannah Wear Open 4 lgths breast.

This gala was hosted by Wyre Forest so a big thank you to everyone who helped to run it.


Results

Round Two - 17.2.07 at Wolverhampton

Wyre Forest came 5th with 107 points. 1st place went to Perry Beeches A Team with 185, 2nd Halesowen with 182 points, 3rd Worcester B with 140, 4th Haden Hill with 133 and 6th was Perry Beeches B Team with 93 points.

There were 31 personal best times.

1st places went to:  Scott Allin 4 lths 13/u backstroke with a PB of 1.11.95, Eliza Bradley 4 lths 13/u Fly with a PB of 1.15.09 and 4 lths 13/u freestyle with a PB of 1.05.36 and Jack Barnett 4 lths 13/u breastroke.

Final of Worcester Winter League - 15th April 2007 - Droitwich

Team Wyre Forest were on top form on Sunday to win their final by a storming 20 points. 2nd place was Droitwich with 97 points, 3rd place Stourbridge B with 95 points and 4th was Perry Beaches B with 91 points.

Captains Gemma Hutchings and Paul Ingenthron collected the trophy.

1st places for individual events went to: Scott Allin 13/u 4 lengths backstroke, Oche Igoche 11/u 2 lths free with a PB of 21.42 and 2 lths back, Eliza Bradley 13/u 4 lths Fly and 4 lths free with a PB of 105.22, Alex Thorley 13/u 4 lths fly, Hannah Wear Open 4 lths back and 4 lths free, Beth Lewis 11/u 2 lths back, Katherine Whelan 13/u 4 lths breast, Jack Barnett 13/u 4 lths breast and 4 lths free and Connor Allen 11/u 2 lths breast.

1st place team events: 11/u mixed medley team of Beth Lewis, Connor Allen, Emily Goodman, Luke Barnett, Alex Styles (PB 17.06) and Oche Igoche (PB 14.40). 11/u mixed Freestyle relay of Lewis, Allen (PB 17.22), Styles, L Barnett, Goodman and Igoche.
13/u mixed Freestyle relay of Katie Parker, Josh Bradley (PB 14.06), Jess Griffiths, Alex Thorley (PB 14.19), Eliza Bradley and Jack Barnett.
