Round One Stourport 28 January 2006

Wyre Forest fielded a young and inexperienced team in this first gala of the 2006 season.

Round Two Worcester 4th March 2006

Wyre Forest came third with 132 points. Ist was Stourbridge (who hosted the event) with 160, 2nd was Ludlow with 132 and 4th was Pershore with 108 points. There were several PB's from the Wyre Forest team with speeding tickets going to Niall Adams and Emily Goodman for being too fast!

Bethany Lewis achieved two first places in her individual events and Alex Hoult, Aaron Smith and Megan Tinsdale also achieved first places in an individual event as well.

WFSC clocked up 44 personal bests with some oustanding performances form Madeleine Belsey-Day achieving three personal bests and the Gainham sisters Paige and Devon getting two personal bests together with Emily Goodman and Nick Thorley.

The nine year old girls Breastroke relay team comprising of Alex Styles, Jemma Postings, Joanna Lewis and Lucy Breakwell all swam faster than before and all gained personal bests.

The team also consisted of three new-comers to competative swimming Thomas Hughes, Max Field and Tom Guy.  Well done to all the swimmers.

Round Three - Abertillery 29th April 2006

Wyre Forest, with resources stretched, fielded an inexperienced team for this gala especially as there was another gala on the same day and many swimmers were away for the Bank holiday weekend.  However everybody put in a brave effort and tried their hardest. There were 58 personal bests and team spirit was good. Some swimmers swam in many events still managing to clock up PBs. Luc Allin swam in 9 events, James Wood 8 and Melissa Mallen swam in 7 events still managing to get 4 personal bests. Lizzie Hall (11) gained a 1st place in the 1 lth freestyle with a PB of 16.68 and so did the girls 9 year old medley relay of Jessica Lewis, Jessica Bishop, Jemma Postings and Georgia Tully.  Paige Wilkins gained 2nd place in the 10 yr old 1 lth back with a PB of 23.73.

Despite coming 4th in this competion, team Wyre Forest swam extremely well with 49 PB's achieved. Unfortunately we swam so well that the following swimmers gained 5 speeding tickets between them meaning that we received no points for those events instead of the maximum.

Katherine Whelan (11) in the 13/u 2 lth breast with a PB of 42.00
Luke Barnett 10/u 1 lth back with a PB of 21.14
Emily Goodman 10/u 1 lth breast
