Round One - 12th April 2008

Well done to the Junior Team for achieving 3rd place in round one of the NJL with 194 points. We were beaten by Northampton A who were the winners of the League last year, they gained 244 points. Worcester A came 2nd with 209 points, Stourbridge A gained 4th place with 171 points, Lulow were 5th with 133 points and Camp Hill were 6th with 103 points.

Having won the 2nd division last year WFSC gained promotion to the 1st Division. Our performance in the first round has shown that we are continuing our progression in the 1st division.

The results are on the forum.

1st places : Jessica Lewis 10/u 2 lths Freestyle with a PB; Oche Igoche 12/u 2 lths fly with a PB and 12/u 2 lths free; girls 10/u freestyle relay team of Jessica Abbott (PB), Beth Hinton (PB), Sophie Hall and Jessica Lewis and Alex Renton 9 yr 1 lth Backstroke.

Well done to all the swimmers.

Round Two - 10th May

The results from Round 2 of the Nuneaton League have been published on the Forum.

We came 5th with 155 points, just behind Stourbridge with 161 points, who we beat last time. 1st place went to Leicester Penguins with 262 points, 2nd Halesowen with 217 points, 3rd Phoenix Youth 'A' with 177 points, 4th Stourbridge, 5th WFSC and 6th Dove Valley with 90 points. The result was a bit dissapointing but we only had 3 x 9 year old girls which meant that we had to swim an over-age swimmer in the 2 relays giving us no points.

We also lost Oche at the outset as he hurt his finger badly in the warm up (ouch!). Our thoughts are with him. Hope you heal quickly Oche!

Well done to all the swimmers.

1st places:  Boys 10/u freestyle relay team of Tom Middleton, Phillip Hall, Jacob Jackson with a PB and Calum Tinsdale; Girls 12/u freestyle relay team of Hannah McCreedy, Emily Goodman, Jessica Charles and Megan Tinsdale and Tom Middleton in the Boys 10/u 1 lth fly.

Round Three - 28th June

Held at Leamington

Wyre Forest competed in the 3rd and final round of this league at Leamington against extremely tough opposition. Unfortunately due to a number of hiccups the team did not perform to its best ability and came 5th with 119 points. Well done to the team for coming 14th out of 24 teams in the league. This keeps us in the 1st Division. After winning the 2nd Division last year we have now consolidated our position in the 1st Division.

Bolmere A came 1st with 274 points, Northampton came 2nd with 243 points, Leamington were 3rd with 171 points, Solihull were 4th with 139 points and Ludlow were 6th with 104 points.

Unfortunately, there were a few of our usual team members missing and we had to swim an overage swimmer (OAS) in both the 9 year old boys relays. There were 24 personal best times achieved during this event.

Well done to Jessica Lewis for getting us 1st place in the girls 10/u 2 lths backstroke despite carrying an injury.
