Nuneaton Junior League - 2007

9, 10, 11 and 12yrs as at 8th September 2007.

2nd Division - FINAL held at Wolverhampton - 8th September 2007

Triumph for the Junior Team - WFSC's Junior Team have won the 2nd Division League of the Nuneaton Gala and have gained promotion to the 1st Division.

RESULTS

Favourites Wyre Forest, having won all their rounds, once again put in the performance of their lives and beat the other 5 serious contenders at the final of the Nuneaton Leagues's 2nd Division. The gala was held at Wolverhampton on 8th September 2007. WFSC won  by 11 points and despite there being some tense moments lead all the way through the competition finishing with a total of 207 points. The team gathered a haul of 8 trophies and broke 3 of the 2nd Division League records.  Well done to all the swimmers, coaches and supporters.

Jemma Postings (9) broke the individual record for the girls 25m freestyle event with a time of 17.25. Both the boys and girls 9yr old Freestyle relay teams broke the 2nd division league records as well. Congratulations to Jemma Postings, Jessica Abbott, Beth Hinton and Jessica Lewis and Tom Middleton, Phillip Hall, Jacob Jackson and Callum Tinsdale.

There were some astonishing performances with 36 personal best times achieved.

1st places in individual events: Niall Allen (9) 1 lth breast with a time of 24.45. Megan Tinsdale (10) 2 lths back with a  PB of 40.31. Jemma Postings (9) 1 lth freestyle with a time of 17.25. Oche Igoche (11) 2 lths freestyle with a time of 32.18.

Wf came 1st with an impressive lead of 63 points with a total of 259 points, 2nd was Apex with 196 points, 3rd Enderby A with 177, 3rd Droitwich A 157, 5th Redditch 146 and 6th Rugby 101.

This was a fantastic result as the junior team won an amazing 25 events out of 51 with 52 personal best times achieved.

ROUND TWO -Wolverhampton - 12th May 2007

Despite losing several members of the regular team to Kidderminster Harriers FA Cup Trophy final at the new Wembley Stadium, WF have won the 4th consecutive gala - this time with a healthy lead of 31 points, 236 points in total. In 2nd position was Northgate with 205, 3rd Wolverhampton with 197, 4th Lichfield 185 and 5th Warley Wasps with 178.

Well done to all the swimmers, coaches, officials and helpers.

1st places in individual events: Luke Barnett 10/u 2 lths free (35.43), Niall Adams (11) 12/u 2 lths Back, Oche Igoche (11) 11/u 2 lths fly, 12/u 2 lths free and 11/u 2 lths free.  Lizzie Hall 12/u 2 lths free (31.63), Tom Middleton 10/u 1 lth free, Jemma Postings 9/u 1 lth free (17.87), Josie Blakiston 9/u 1 lth back. Well done to Oche for winning all his events.

ROUND THREE - BROMSGROVE - 23RD JUNE

WF won again last night in the third round of the Nuneaton Junior League held at Bromsgrove(23rd June). WF have already won their first and second round fixtures. Can we get promotion to the first division? Final is on the 8th September at Wolverhampton - the top four will get promoted.

The Junior League showed their class again by winning their 3rd round of the NJL by 22 points with 227 points, 2nd was Stafford Apex with 205, 3rd Bromsgrove 188 points, 4th Wellington 180 points, 5th Burntwood 152 points and 6th Worcester B with 108 points.

Well done to all the swimmers, coaches. officials and poolside helpers.
